Stephen Füssle - Lead Pastor

Stephen Füssle is a man who has selflessly served those around him who are in desperate need of life change.   He has helped those with drug/alcohol addiction turn their lives around, he has counseled couples saving marriages, and he has loved and served those living lives of desperation into choosing a lifestyle of hope.   He has made an impact in the world and his community.

At the age of 20 while living on the island of Maui, Stephen had his first encounter with the person of Jesus Christ. A few months later on a mission trip to China he decided to surrender his life to God.   The moment Stephen relinquished control of his life God's power became evident.   Stephen experienced positive changes in his daily life and actions, and was healed from all of the hate that consumed him.

God soon set Stephen’s feet on a new path: he graduated from Vanguard University of Southern California with a degree in Biblical Studies/Pastoral Leadership, served on staff at The Crossing Church, and married the woman of his dreams, Amber.   Stephen is the founding pastor of The Awakening Church located on Maui.   He had big ambitions as a young man, but he never imagined the joy and fulfillment he would experience in sharing God's love with others.

Amber Füssle- Worship Pastor

I was made for worship! I feel the closest to God when I'm leading others into His presence. It is such an honor and privilege. 

I taught myself how to play guitar at the ripe old age of 13 and have loved to sing since I can remember. 

I am also a health enthusiast! You can see me and my handsome stud-of-a-husband pumping iron at Maui Powerhouse Gym five days a week! Feel free to jump in on a set with us. Don't worry, we'll take it easy on you. Haha 

The best gift I've ever received was my five beautiful children. There is never a dull moment in our household. We love the beach and pool time along with having friends over for BBQ's. 

What I love about my church is that it's a family affair. If you get there prior to service, you'll see my kids setting up the cameras and chairs. My son has given himself the proud title of Coffee Pastor as he is in charge of the coffee set up. We believe in families active in the church together loving people and loving God.

Paco Lopez - Family Life Pastor

Aloha! I am a former youth and college pastor and am honored to serve at The Awakening Church as the Family Life Pastor. I have a passion for burritos (I am a self-proclaimed burrito connoisseur), good coffee, and teaching the bible. I'm married to Bekah, our beautiful children's pastor, and we have two amazing kids, Mila and Jayden, who fill our home with love, laughter, and a little chaos. 

If you see me around, let me know your favorite spot for Mexican food and ask me why Ephesians 1 is my favorite passage of the Bible!

Breier Sanders - Youth Pastor

Working with youth has been one of the most rewarding aspects of my life! God has blessed my family greatly with two wonderful kids and Mya my wife is a remarkable woman of God! We have a passion to share the love of Christ with the younger generation and speak life into all circumstances. Community is a big part of our walk and being a light to the surrounding community!

Being a part of the Awakening Church team is so life giving! Our main goal is to equip the youth to thrive in the world that is post high school, to lead families, preach the gospel, and be strong in the community!

Bekah Lopez - Childrens Pastor

Working with children has been a passion of mine since my first job as a gymnastics teacher. What I enjoy most about being a part of Kids Ministry is sharing the truth that they are known and loved by Jesus. To have a role in their faith journey is such a blessing and naturally comes with a lot of fun! 

I'm so grateful to be working at The Awakening Church alongside my husband, Paco (the Family Life Pastor). We have two young children, Mila and Jayden, whose smiles and giggles we cherish. 

Each day, I strive to remember this encouragement in 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, "Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus."
